Nosara, Costa Rica is a popular destination for surfers, yogis, and eco-tourists alike. Located on the country’s Pacific side, the coastline is dressed with beautiful beaches, and the landscape inland is lush and green. If you are looking for a relaxing retreat, there is no better destination than Nosara.

Nosara: Where to stay:

Harmony Hotel

There is no shortage of beautiful resorts along the coast of Nosara, but none compare to the Harmony Hotel. This sustainable resort boasts a spa and healing center, a healthy juice bar, a restaurant, and of course, a yoga studio. Its proximity to Playa Guiones allows you to spend a day lounging on the sand, or taking a surf lesson at one of the many nearby surf schools. Each bungalow style accommodation includes a private patio with an outdoor shower and hammock, complimentary a la carte breakfast every morning of your stay (don’t miss it!), and one yoga class. With a focus on wellness, Harmony Hotel has an air of relaxed luxury that is perfect for the beach-goer.

Visit Nosara: Where to eat:

La Luna

With outdoor tables that sit right on the beach, La Luna is a great place to take in a sunset dinner. From falafel to ceviche – even delicious Neapolitan style pizza! – this culinarily diverse restaurant has something for everyone.

The Gilded Iguana

The Gilded Iguana is popular among locals and tourists alike. The relaxed atmosphere makes this hangout a great place to have some drinks and listen to live music.
*Note: The Gilded Iguana is currently closed for renovations, but is expected to reopen in early 2018.

The Juice Bar at Harmony Hotel

This healthy, sustainable juice bar is perfect for lunch, offering salads, sandwiches, and fresh squeezed fruit and vegetable juices. One of our favorite parts about this juice bar is that it’s only steps away from the bungalows!

What to do:

Surf

Nosara is known as one of the top surf spots in the world, so whether you have been hanging ten all your life, or you have never even touched a surfboard, you must get into the Pacific Ocean water at Playa Guiones. If you are a beginner, check out Nosara Surf Academy, whose friendly, skilled instructors will make sure you ride at least one wave during your lesson.

Zipline

As one of the last locations in Costa Rica with unpaved roads, Nosara and its surrounding areas are covered in beautiful foliage that you won’t be able to truly appreciate until you are flying high above it. Miss Sky Canopy Tour, the longest canopy tour in the world, will have you hovering over the forest on up to 13 different cables. After zipping through the forest, there is a guided hike which ends with a swim under a waterfall, so don’t forget your bathing suit!

Spa

Indulging in treatments at Harmony’s Spa and Healing Center is a great way to spend an afternoon. The private, peaceful spa area promotes relaxation with skin exfoliants, massages, and facials. We highly recommend the 60-minute Skin Fitness treatments. Ask them to mix the coffee and chocolate scrubs together!

Yoga

Don’t miss your complimentary yoga class in Harmony Hotel’s open-air yoga studio. Nosara is a location on every yogi’s list, and practicing with the sounds of the jungle surrounding you is the perfect way to deepen your breath and find your center. We recommend saving the class for the day before you depart; you will leave Nosara feeling completely at ease.

By booking your Nosara retreat with us, we can offer exclusive rates that you won’t be able to find online. We are certain that our recommendations will have you embracing Costa Rica’s law of the land: Pura Vida.

Have you traveled to Nosara and think we missed something? Want more information about planning your next getaway? Leave a comment below with your tips and ideas and a wanderlust consultant will get in touch with you! #YourWorldBetter
