Yeah, you read that exclamation point right. I’m yelling at you to go to Galicia.

“Oh, what’s Guh-lee-thia?”, you may ask. Well, well, well…..
Map of SpainBoom!

That’s Galicia!  It’s located at the top of the northwest portion of España. It’s the piece of Spain that is like the head of a man looking out over the ocean asking, “Whatcha doing over there, America?”, and that fancy lisp you heard back there was an example of their fancy “Castilian lisp” which is how most of the fancy country speaks. FANCY!

Vilagarcia de Arousa

It’s a land of mariscos (seafood) and mountains, with sites and people as welcoming as they are beautiful and that is why you need to stop whatever you are doing and book a flight! I’m serious… Stop reading this. What are you doing?!

Look at this!

Santiago di Compostela

Isn’t that beautiful?! Why are you still reading this? LEAVE!  OK. All right, perhaps, read this first, like it and share it with everyone you know, and THEN GO! Also, I apologize for the excessive use of exclamations this early in the morning. I drank a cold brew with coffee cubes (that’s a thing!) so I’m feeling PUMPED!!! But back to Galicia…

Vilagarcia de Arousa

Not only in Vilagarcia will you find wonders from the magical land they call Galicia. Cities and towns like Santiago de Compostela, Vigo, San Vicente, A Coruna, and Ourense have their own attractions and rhythm. The small, winding, and historic streets mixed with the surrounding modern architecture will make you feel like your life is one of those movies where the  protagonist looks for the meaning of life, only to find out that was within them all along.

Santiago de Compostela

The topography of Galicia is a combination of everything from mountains to beaches, it has it all! So if you’re like me who enjoys the occasional day by the water laying in the sand like some beached whale, or you’re more of a athletic human being that enjoys hiking and the great outdoors, or if you simply love to drink and drink a lot, and I mean do some serious drinking, then this is the place to go.

San Vicente de O Grove

Hiding up north, Galicia is like a pearl from a fresh-picked Galician oyster that is often overlooked by travelers who go to cities like Madrid , Barcelona , and Seville . My prediction is that sooner or later people will begin to find Galicia is like a small cove, a quiet sanctuary for  the weary traveler looking to rest their head after a night of being wine drunk.

Vilagarcia de Arousa

Sometimes it seems that Galicia knows it’s so cool that it doesn’t need to publicize how cool it is. It’s as if Galicia is one of those mysterious, loner types in all those 80’s movies. It wears leather jackets and stares at you in English class. You’re curious, so you take the chance, leading you to discover that both of you are equally messed up in an unforgiving world. Then, at the school dance, you realize you’re both madly in love and nothing else matters! Not grades, not school dances, not even Becky with her backstabbing! NOTHING!

Vilagarcia de Arousa

Wow! I really got into it there. However, in all seriousness, do yourself the favor and book a flight to Galicia. You won’t regret it and you deserve it. Now please, stop reading this because I’m finished with this post and you have an adventure ahead of you!
