Discover the beauty of the Balkan region, and learn more about the history, architecture, and modern-day events that shaped these countries into what they are today. The focus of the tour will be Croatia, but you will also get the chance to visit Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Full Itinerary

Day 1. Zagreb

Bring your passport; the adventure begins! Board your flight to Zagreb. After a couple of movies and a meal, you will arrive in Croatia. You will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your accommodation. Stay overnight.

Day 2. Zagreb

Zagreb, Croatia

Rise and shine, and kick off your day; it is time to explore the Croatian capital. Start your small group guided tour of Zagreb with a panoramic drive through the city. You will discover the Lenuci Horseshoe and visit the Mirogoj Cemetery. The next part of the tour will be on foot, where you will focus on the origins of Zagreb – the Cathedral and the Upper town. You will have the afternoon free for leisure. Conclude the day by visiting a museum, hitting some of the city’s vibrant bars and nightclubs, or just strolling the streets and mingling with the locals. Stay overnight.

Day 3. Zagreb – Ljubljana – Lake Bled – Zagreb

Get ready to conquer a new country – Slovenia. In a small group setting your first stop will be enchanting Ljubljana. Start with a walking tour of the city with your local guide, where you will learn more about the capital of Slovenia, hear stories about dragons, and come across quirky bridges. You will also visit the Ljubljana Castle, from where you can enjoy the aerial views of the city. The road will then take you to one of the most stunning views of Slovenia – Lake Bled. See the 11th century Bled Castle, and enjoy the mesmerizing beauty that surrounds you.  With all the new memories collected, you will head back to Zagreb. Stay overnight.

Day 4. Zagreb – Plitvice Lakes – Split

Prepare yourself for a getaway in nature on a guided private day trip. You will first make a stop at the picturesque watermill village of Rastoke before journeying on to one of the highlights of Croatia, Plitvice Lakes National Park. Embrace its pristine natural beauty and find out why it has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, you will advance to Split. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation. Stay overnight.

Day 5. Split

Kick off the day with a private walking tour of the city accompanied by a local guide. Discover the beauty of Split, which dates back to the Roman times. Admire the architecture, hear the stories that shaped it into the city it is today, and wander through small alleyways that are always packed with friendly locals. Enjoy the rest of the day free for your own activities. Stay overnight.

Day 6. Split

Croatia Highlights

Jump on a boat and get to know the islands in the vicinity on a small group day trip. Croatia prides itself on having more than 1,200 islands, and although you will not be able to see them all, you will swim around and lounge on a few of them. A visit to the beautiful Blue Cave is included, famous for the mesmerizing blue light that fills it. After a day of sun, sea, and sand, you will head back to Split, where you will have the night free for your own adventures. Stay overnight.

Day 7. Split – Dubrovnik

Continue your trip by bus towards Dubrovnik. After you settle into your accommodation, you will embark on a private walking tour of the city with a local guide. Admire the medieval fortification system, and walk around the real life King’s Landing from “Game of Thrones.” An optional cable car to Mount Srd will allow you to catch beautiful aerial views of the city. You will quickly realize why Dubrovnik is currently one of the most popular destinations in the world. Stay overnight.

Day 8. Dubrovnik – Mostar – Dubrovnik

You will discover another country during your small group tour as you advance towards Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the city of Mostar. Explore the Old Bridge of Mostar, which is protected under UNESCO, and other multicultural heritage monuments, like the Mosque of Mostar and the Turkish House. You will learn more about the city’s tumultuous history on your walking tour with your local guide. After some free time, you will head back to Dubrovnik, where you will have the rest of the day free. Revisit some of your favorite spots in Dubrovnik, or explore new ones. Stay overnight.

Day 9. Dubrovnik 

Have a free day at leisure and your own activities. Stay overnight.

Day 10. Dubrovnik – Zagreb

Pack your bags and take a flight to Zagreb. Upon arrival check in to your accommodation, and the rest of the day have free for your own activities. Stay overnight.

Day 11. Zagreb

It is time to say goodbye to Croatia. You will be transferred to the airport, where you will board your flight.

End of program.

Important Information

Minimum number of participants: 2

This tour is not recommended for people with mobility issues, as it includes walking on uneven surfaces. Not wheelchair accessible. Not recommended for travelers with health issues, or pregnant women.

Depending on the weather conditions, some parts of the Plitvice Lakes National Park may be restricted.

Island Hopping Tour operates from May to September. Max number of persons per booking is eight(8). If number of passengers is over eight, they will have to be split into two different speedboats. The average wait time to enter the Blue Cave is one hour, with the typical visit lasting 10 minutes. Swimming inside the Blue Cave is prohibited.  When the Blue Cave is closed for visitors due to bad weather conditions or waves, we suggest visiting the Green Cave on Ravnik Island instead. Speedboats cannot approach Stiniva beach due to environmental laws; the boat will anchor in the bay, where guests can swim to reach the beach. Lifejackets will be provided.
